Delgatie Castle

On May Day we visited Delgatie Castle, near Turriff.
Delgatie, like most castles in Aberdeenshire was renovated in the 16th century. It has a long history and can lay claim to having housed famous personages such as Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots.
We can highly recommend the Laird's Kitchen; lovely home made soups and K's favourite - Carrot Cake!!
The woodland walks are well maintained and give the choice of a long or short walk, so something for everyone.

Spring is upon us and despite this show of colour some areas around Delgatie stuggles to break out of winter. A few more weeks and the fauna will be alive.
