A Touch of Tartan

K's school had a Touch of Tartan day on Friday on the lead up to the 250th Anniversary of Robert Burns' Birth. It is also the Scottish homecoming year so they had a Ceilidh, Scottish poems, music, etc. K really loved it.
On Friday evening the school choir also attended a Church of Scotland Congregation in the nearby town of Fraserburgh. A special evening of singing and celebration followed the ordination of the New Lady Minister. The first female Minister in the area.

Challenge No.1

Start of a New Year and start of a fitness campaign. Challenge No.1 was to walk from Dyce to Maud along the old Formartine and Buchan Way railway track. 25.5 miles + 1 mile walk from the car park at Weatherford to the start of the track.
More details and photos of the sometimes difficult terrain in Kintore Watt's Blog (use link to the right).
Look out for Challenge No.2 in February.

Cousin S, home from Japan for Christmas

K loved hearing S's stories of Japan. Before Christmas the School Project was Japan so they had a lot to talk about. S was kind enough to visit the school and give the kids a presentation. She received a Thank-You letter from each of them.
K dressed in a Kimono for the presentation (picture to follow).

Many Thanks Suzanne
